(HWC) Movies for Mental Health

Movies for Mental Health by Art With Impact
Movies for Mental Health is a 2-hour workshop on college campuses that focuses on
empowering young adults, educators, health professionals and community members to gain a better understanding of mental health within their environment. Knowing that art speaks the language of our interior worlds, we harness film to engage with young people on the vital topic of mental health, inspiring and empowering them to tell their own stories and access resources available to them.

EDYS Guest Speaker Nancy Kendall

"Are Girl Focused Education and Sexual Health Interventions Actually Dangerous for Girls?" This intriguing presentation will be presented by Nancy Kendall. Nancy Kendall's research examines the consequences of national and international policies and funding streams directed at improving marginalized children's, communities' and states' wellbeing. She is affiliated with the African Studies Program, Department of Gender and Women’s Studies, Development Studies Program, and Global Health Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kendall has conducted extended research in Malawi, Mozambique, and the U.S., and has conducted short-term research in Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Zimbabwe.
