Society for Learning Unlimited Kick-Off

At this year's SLU kick-off, Daniel Souvigny, a 16-year-old from Hampshire, IL, will perform. Souvigny is a trained violinist who performs a variety of music including ragtime and jazz.
SLU is an independent nonprofit organization affiliated with Beloit College which provides college courses for learners ages 50 and above.

Dr. Mireya Loza Public Lecture

On Wednesday, September 6 at 7 p.m. in Richardson Lecture Hall, Dr. Mireya Loza, Curator of Political History at the Smithsonian Museum of American History, will offer a public talk entitled, "From Ephemeral to Enduring: The Politics of Recording and Exhibiting Bracero Memory". Loza's talk is based on the oral histories she did of Mexican braceros who worked in the United States during and after World War II.
